Calla Avery producing a record at Earwig Studios in Seattle Washington

Recording and Live Sound Engineer. Producer. Musician.

Hi, I’m Calla. I’m a recording and live sound engineer based out of Seattle and my company is called Picnic Audio. I offer recording, editing, producing, mixing, and mastering services for a wide range of artists and bands— from the absolute DIY level to high-end studio work. I am also a passionately curious and active live sound engineer who's worked in venues and with festivals across the Pacific Northwest.

My philosophy is simple— I want to make recording easy and exciting, removing as many barriers to you expressing your art as possible. Nothing is more rewarding than creating music, and I want you to enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.

I believe the foundation of any creative partnership is effective communication, integrity, openness, and a strong foundation of technical knowledge. I have been recording music for over 10 years and studied recording at Western Washington University. In that time I have always strived to be the most compassionate, well informed, and honest engineer I can be and will always be a relentless and curious collaborator to my clients.

As an engineer and musician I have worked with all sorts of different artists, genres, and styles from ambient electronic to doom metal, country to hardcore. But I mostly work in rock and pop styles. I am also a queer woman who has prioritized and particularly enjoyed working with other queer and LGBTQA+ artists and creatives.

If you’re interested in working together in any capacity please reach out :) I’m excited to hear about your project and how I can help bring it to life.
